a restored seventeenth century mansion with lots of atmosphere.

Pricey for it quality, but you pay for location here, right a
few minutes walk from the Alhambra.
Hotel Macia Plaza Nueva 4 (958 227536). One of the
best locations, on the fringe of the Albaicin but near the shopping
centre and a short (if steep) walk to the Alhambra. Comfortable
adequate rooms.
Hotel Montecarlo Calle Acera de Darro 44 (958 257900).
Centrally located hotel with spacious well equipped rooms. Hotel
Kenia, Calle Molinos 65 (958 227506) Lovely old building which
has been restored into an up to date comfortable hotel in a quiet
position.

Local youth hostel if you're desperate. Clean and cheap with surprising
extras like summer pool.
Hotel La Perla Calle Reyes Catolicos 2. (958 223415).
Simple hotel right in the centre of the city near the cathedral.
Hostal Europa, Calle Fabrica Vieja 16, (958 278744) Small and
friendly hostal.
Hostal Fabiola Calle Angel Gavinet 5 (958 223572)
Relatively quiet on the third floor with many rooms sporting a
balcony.
Hostal Viena Calle Hospital de Santa Ana 2 (958) 221869)
Quiet basic hostal in convenient location.
